On 6 th of July, a joint meeting of the heads of the State Enterprise "Antonov" and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took place.
The meeting was attended by the President of the State Enterprise "Antonov" Oleksandr Kotsiuba, the chief engineer of the enterprise Sergey Bychkov, the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Zgurovsky, the vice rector of the university from academic work, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Ilchenko, director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute , member correspondent of NAS of Ukraine Mykola Bobyr and others.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issue of expanding cooperation between the enterprise and the university. In the opinion of Mykhailo Zgurovsky it should unfold in three main directions.
Firstly, it not only about expansion but also the restoration of those ties which have already been established at certain periods of the history of the plant and the university, but for some reason were interrupted. All educational and scientific departments of the University, whose activities are related to aviation construction, should be involved in the cooperation.
Second part of cooperation is the training of engineering and scientific personnel of the highest qualification for work at the State Enterprise "Antonov" and participation in the projects of the enterprise. At the same time, students, post-graduate students and university scientists should be involved into the solving process of the most urgent problems for SE "Antonov" and conducting relevant research.
The third task is to promote cooperation between the company and the leading companies in the world working in the field of aircraft engineering and space technology. This direction can be based on partnership relations and experience of cooperation of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with the company "Boeing" (USA), a group of companies "Progresstech" and others, about which Mykola Bobir told. As Mykhailo Zgurovsky noted, the practice of cooperation is between manufacturers of modern aviation technics from different countries is now extremely widespread, and integration into a system of technological and business ties that brings together the leading players of the world market of aviation engineering can be very useful for the State Enterprise "Antonov" both from scientific and technical, political point of view.
Oleksandr Kotsyuba spoke about the interest of the company in establishing strong relations with Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. "We do not only support your offer for cooperation in all three areas proposed, but ready to start their practical implementation in the near future," he said. "From the point of view of Mykhailo Zgurovsky, one of the first steps towards establishing an effective cooperation may be the creation, on the basis of the MMI, of the joint educational- scientific center of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and SE "Antonov". In this center, the target training of specialists for the enterprise will be held on the model of "dual education" (in it the study is combined with work at the enterprise) and research on relevant topics. Serhiy Bychkov proposed to create a working group of representatives of the enterprise and the university to develop programs and plans for such structure.
Finally, the meeting agreed to develop a draft agreement on cooperation between the University and the SE "Antonov" and sign it within a few weeks.
