Valentin Georgievich Kolobrodov – doctor of technical sciences, head of the Optical and optoelectronic devices department Faculty of Instrumental Design and Engineering KPI.
He authored about 250 scientific publications and 50 patents. Several of his books were published in Germany and China. Manuals of Valentin Georgievich many times got prizes at the contests “The best manual of NTUU “KPI”. He is one of the editors scientific-technical magazine “Artillery and small arms”, the member of special academic councils on the award of the rang doctor of technical sciences in NTUU “KPI”.
For many years he read the lectures at the known technical universities and research institutes of China, Germany and Hungary.
The researcher investigates optical and optoelectronic devices – those, which are used glass as the data carrier.
“Together with the colleagues we research the space devices, assigning to monitor the Earth surface from the space. These devices are used both in civil and military applications”, - Valentin Georgievich explaines.
In his doctor’s dissertation, the researcher examined the principle of thermal imaging devices, which give the opportunity to watch in the dark, because they react to the heat of “warmed” objects. Day or night – for those devices does not matter.
The researcher’s developments are used in security and intelligent systems, sometimes even for the fight against the terrorism.
The professor’s student since 2006 participate and get prized in the annual international students Olympiad “Optotechnics” in Saint-Petersburg.
Former student of Valentin Georgievich now are working in the responsible positions. The professor was the advisor of the diploma and candidate’s dissertation of the dean Faculty of Instrumental Design and Engineering Tymchyk Grigoriy Semenovich. “Today he brings me a little, because I am his subordinate,” – said professor smiling.
Valentin Georgievich was also the teacher of the Vice-Dean of FIDE, absolute excellent in all teaching subjects Vladimir Ivanovich Mykytenko.
The professor prided his former student Mikola Ivanovich Lyholet, CEO of famous “Arsenal”, now it is called State Enterprise of special instrumentation “Arsenal”. He was the advisor of Lyholet’s doctor dissertation.
He was also the advisor of the candidate’s dissertation of the director of the research institute “Kvant” Victor Tarasovich Stepanovich.
The researcher remembers with the pride his former student charismatic Konstantin Andriuk, who works now as the journalist in the program “Prosport” channel 1+1.
However, the most of our researcher is proud by his family. He is the teacher in KPI. The son and his wife graduated from KPI. And this year two his grand sons were enrolled also in KPI.
